Online Blackjack in an instance

In the game of online blackjack, just as the game played at the land based casino there are not many options for the player to choose from. But, the options offered can make a big difference to the way the game progresses. Initially the player is dealt two cards, face up and the dealer also receives two cards, one face up and one face down. The dealer then has to decide if he wants to stand, i.e. not take any more cards or hit, i.e. draw another card. The player makes his decision based on the cards that he holds and the upturned card of the dealer. If the upturned card of the dealer is an Ace then the player can also choose to take out insurance, this is an additional bet, half the value of the original bet, which he can place to insure against the dealer landing the blackjack i.e. an Ace and Face card. If the two cards held by the player are the same value the player can also opt for the splitting in which he splits the two cards and in effect places an additional bet. There is also the double down option where the player can place one more bet and draw one more card in order to win the game.
